The Oxnard Medical Office was Starfield Primary Care’s first medical site and remains a cornerstone of our practice. We provide comprehensive primary care services, including routine appointments and same-day visits for time-sensitive medical concerns, Monday through Friday. In addition to in-office care, our Oxnard team delivers mobile medical services throughout the surrounding community, including care at several special-needs facilities, the Oxnard Navigation Center, and the Maywood Skilled Nursing Facility.

Meet the Oxnard Team
Michael Hochman, MD, MPH
Dr. Hochman is a Board-Certified Internist who graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2006 and completed his Internal Medicine training at the Cambridge Health Alliance. He worked for 9 years as a physician at LA County General Hospital, and 5 years as a Medical Director at AltaMed Health Services, the nation’s largest community health center. Between 2021-2024, Dr. Hochman served as the Founding CEO of Healthcare in Action, now the largest homeless healthcare group on the West Coast. In 2024, he founded Starfield Primary Care, a clinician-owned and operated medical group that partners with community health systems to deliver mobile medical care to homeless and housing insecure patient populations. Dr. Hochman is the editor of the 50 Studies Every Doctor Should Know book series, published by Oxford University Press, and has authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. He lives in Studio City, California, with his wife and three children, and is an avid Boston sports fan (don’t hold that against him, he comes to it honestly from growing up in Massachusetts).
Nicole Villarreal, FNP-BC
Nicole Villarreal is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare. With a strong foundation in Acute Care and Internal Medicine, she brings a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to Family Practice. Nicole has special expertise in hormone balance and replacement therapy (HRT) for both men and women, helping patients optimize energy, mood, and overall well-being. She is passionate about building long-term relationships and providing holistic, personalized care that supports each individual’s health across every stage of life.
Jennifer Hensley, PA-C
Jennifer Hensley is a California-licensed Physician Assistant with a background in urgent care, family medicine, and mental health. She earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Marshall B. Ketchum University after completing her undergraduate studies in Health Sciences at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
Jennifer brings both medical skill and human understanding to every patient encounter. Her clinical interests include primary care psychiatry, functional medicine, basic addiction medicine, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. She is especially passionate about serving patients who often fall through the cracks – including young adults, working professionals, and individuals navigating chronic stress, stigma, or systemic barriers to care.
She approaches medicine with curiosity, compassion, and a holistic lens – recognizing the value of lifestyle, mental health, and functional wellness alongside evidence-based treatment. At Starfield, Jennifer is committed to building trust and delivering thoughtful, relationship-driven care to the Oxnard community and beyond.
Liz Juarez
Liz Juarez is the heart of our Oxnard Medical Office. Born and raised in the local community, Liz has been caring for patients here for over 30 years—long before the office became part of Starfield Primary Care. On most days, you’ll find Liz at the front desk, welcoming patients and helping them get checked in, always with a familiar face and a deep commitment to the people she serves.
